Therefore, our mission is to make, mature, and multiply joyful worshipers for the glory of Jesus Christ the King.

King’s Church Core Values
At King’s Church, we strive to be a…
-
To be gospel-centered is to place the Good News about Jesus Christ at the center of our hearts' affections (Matt. 22:37), our evangelism and outreach (Rom. 10:9-17), our motivation for holiness (Rom. 12:1-2), our biblical interpretation (Luke 24:25-27), our identity (Eph. 2:4-22), and, therefore, all of our church programming. The heart of the gospel is proclaiming how Jesus Christ-through his life, death, and resurrection-made a way for us to be reconciled to God if we repent of our sins and place our faith in Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins (Rom. 3:21-26; 1 Cor. 15:1-5; Eph. 2:8-9).
-
To be Spirit-empowered is to rely upon the power of the Holy Spirit to love and obey God in the way that the Scriptures require us. We must have the illumination of the Spirit (1 Cor. 2:10-13) to understand God's will (John 14:26), and we must have the power of the Spirit to carry it out (Acts 1:8). We access this power best as we humbly pray God's Word back to him in total dependence upon His grace (Eph. 6:18).
-
As believers, we are the family of God (Eph. 2:18-20) in Christ and through the Spirit. This should lead us to loving one another sacrificially (Col. 3:12-14). It also means that we are on a mission, sent by King Jesus (John 20:21) to proclaim his good news and thereby see many more sons and daughters adopted into God's family by grace alone and faith alone.
Why West Michigan?
Our Story
Michael and Ann Swindell have felt called to church plant for over a decade, and Michael completed his Masters of Divinity from Southern Seminary with a Church Planting Concentration. The Swindells are thrilled that the Lord has now opened the door to plant in West Michigan!
Michael and Ann have been joyfully married for 18 years and are blessed with two amazing, wonderful kids-Ella, 12, and Judah, 7.
Michael most recently served as the Executive Pastor at Wellspring Church in Hudsonville, Michigan. He has also served as a pastor in both Illinois and Texas. In addition, he has been affirmed to have the character of an elder as outlined in Scripture as well as the competencies needed to plant a church by his local church elders at Wellspring Community Church, by pastors within the Great Commission Collective, and by pastoral leadership within the SEND Network.
Ann is a Christian author, speaker, business owner, and homeschooling mama.
She loves being a pastor's wife and is looking forward to sharing in this church planting adventure with Michael!
